The only thing keeping jingle bells away now is the not-so-pleasant transition into colder weather, ushered in by a less than pleasant lake-breeze. :-/
Speaking of bells, did you know that bell peppers are not just one of the most prevalent vegetables in various cousins BUT…they are also some of the most vegetables that you can consume!
It is a low-calorie vegetable and an excellent source of fiber and vitamins A & C. Just throw in some rice and even an egg or two and you’ll be ready to eat a nice full meal.
These little jingles of nutritious joy are quite hardy when it comes to growing in different climates, so don’t be afraid even when the Chicago tundra is in its finest hour, you will still find them in your grocery store.
Oh and just before you sauté them or throw them in a salad, crack a little sliver under your nose and feel a most refreshing little spray that will make your mouth water until the dinner is ready. A little hint for the kids that you may be cooking for…show them how it sprays their face and they just might consider it one of the most healthy finger-foods on the market.
