Growth in Dental Clinic

August 9th, 2006

Since 1971 when Infant Welfare moved to our former facility on Halsted Street, we have been providing pediatric dental services. Granted we began with one chair and ended our stay on Halsted Street with six chairs.  Our move to 3600 West Fullerton Avenue allowed us to add a seventh chair.

Looking at our data for the fiscal year that just ended, it is clear that our growth has resulted in more service.  On average we saw 158 more dental patients each month;  1903 more patient visits; and had a total of 1,557 patients who were new to the dental clinic.  Our current unduplicated number of dental patients is 4,600.

The other thing which pleases me is that 96% of our pediatric patients had at least one visit in the dental clinic.  Our clinicians and front desk staff are doing a good job of referring patients between services.  When patients come through our door, they receive everything we offer.
